In this video I will explain how to formulate and apply your own dormant oil spray for fruit trees.
The goal with properly applied dormant oil spray is that the fruit tree is rendered free of harmful bugs their eggs and fungal spores.
This recipe has been proven for me on the following fruit trees: crabapple, apple, plum, pear, quince & currants.
There are optimal time windows to apply the spray, I’ll explain what needs to happen BEFORE and AFTER the application so that you can be sure your timing was right on!
For each gallon (~4 liters) of water you add these 3 ingredients:
- 1 cup veg oil
- 1 tablespoon baking soda
- 1 tablespoon pure castile soap
